In the study of political science, has been much discussed about youth organizations who framed as a group of interest, but still rarely discussed as collateral or ganization of political parties. Collateral organizations can also be called as a wing organizations, underbow, autonomous board, and several other terms. Speaking about the relationship between youth organizations and political parties , the relationship is often framed in the form of independent collateral organization. Youth organizations choose a relationship in the form of an independent collateral because of on the one hand wants to show its independence, but on the other hand also want to draw closer to power . Independent collateral organizational characteristics usually characterized by informal relationships, interests are usually external, individual membership types, the control of the party against youth organizations is low , and some other characteristics . The Informal relationships and externally interests makes them have ups and downs intensively in the interests by that time. With reference to the case of the Indonesian Islamic Students Movement (GMII) who decided to stay close to the United Development Party (PPP), this study examines the vulnerability of youth organizations who choose relationship patterns with independent collateral organization. With a little different trigger of interests, GMII unable to manage conflict with PPP so that the relation as collateral organization disbanded. More specifically, this study tries to ex plore "What caused the GMII no longer close to the PPP in the framework of an independent collateral organization ?" . This study is a qualitative case study method. Data obtained from interviews, either in person by phone, email and data existing in both the object and the social media. The results of this study are GMII no longer close to PPP because GMII consider PPP's leadership under Suryadama Ali not benefit for GMII. The closeness of the two starts from the GMII and PPP elite c loseness in other organizations, for example; the Islamic Students Association (HMI) and Indonesian Muslim Brotherhood (Parmusi). Being fair if GMII decided to no xiii longer close to the PPP because PPP is not led by Parmusi's personnel. The Chairman of PN GMII is one of Parmusi's cadre, of course he would support the Parmusi or at least friendly to the cadre of Parmusi to take the PPP‟s chairman position. GMII involved in the PPP's factionalization intricacies. Although the relationship patterns between PPP and GMII and tend to be independent collateral organizations , but as a youth organization that wants to show independence, GMII feel the need to whiten organization name .
