ABSTRACT INTER-REGIONAL COOPERATION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE FORMER RESIDENCY OF SURAKARTA Senna Viali Pasaribu (10/296725/SP/23870) Faculty of Social and Political Science Autonomy makes the role of each district or city becomes bigger. Inter-regional cooperation is an effective and right way to overcome problems among regions. The presence of inequality of economic condition among regions has caused one region can grow faster while other regions suffer from slow economic growth. Based on the condition, inter-regional cooperation in Subosukowonosraten attempts to increase the economic development in the former residency of Surakarta through various programs about the regional economic development. Because of that, the performance of inter-regional cooperation in the former residency of Surakarta will be examined. This research is done in the areas of Subosukowonosraten, especially The Secretariat of BKAD Subosukowonosraten in Surakarta. Qualitative method will be used to examined and described the cooperation of BKAD Subosukowonosraten. Data sources are obtained from interviews, observations, and also from the secondary data processing which are documentations, notes and archives. After that, the data will be processed using three components namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion withdrawal which are adapted with the indicator of the measurement of organization performance. After the analysis and data processing is done, the conclusion can be made. The conclusion is the performance of BKAD Subosukowonosraten is defined by using three indicators namely accountability, responsiveness, and effectiveness. Because of that, it is known that the performance of BKAD Subosukowonosraten is good. Their performance is also effected by some factors namely organizational authority, organizational communication, and also internal resources of the organization. The presence of the supporting factors gives impact to the implementation of various programs of BKAD Subosukowonosraten in terms of regional economic development.
