ABSTRACT Health is an important thing in life. Health is also a human right for every citizen, whereas the fulfillment of human rights is the responsibility of the state. Various health services provided by the government, one of which is health insurance. Previously, a variety of health insurance in Indonesia is managed by various agencies with the provisions of the different participants. Attendance, the regulations number 24 of 2011 about BPJS (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial) has given a change. Officialy, PT ASKES be dissolved without liquidation and transformed per 1 January 2014 to BPJS Kesehatan. Now, BPJS Kesehatan, manage the entire health insurance in Indonesia known as the National Health Insurance. Society as a public of BPJS Kesehatan should to know the various changes that occur after the transformation of PT ASKES. Socialization is done to provide information and insight to the public about the policy. Public relations BPJS Kesehatan be an important part to connect between the internal and external parties. Through a variety of public relations activities undertaken, is expected to create an understanding of the National Health Insurance that managed by BPJS Kesehatan. This research focus on the main branch office of BPJS Kesehatan Yogyakarta, because this has a population a dependent population than the other BPJS Kesehatan Branch Office in region VI, Central Java. This research focused on mapping the role of public relations of the Main Branch Office in Yogyakarta in Socialization of National Health Insurance. This research use a qualitative approach with case study method. All of data in this research will be obtained by in-depth interviews with either the internal or the participant BPJS Kesehatan, observation of the public relations activities and documents have a connection of the role of public relations BPJS Kesehatan in socialization National Health Insurance.
