ABSTRACT Rapid technological development since the 2000s has changed the style of modern human reading. Modern people seek information needs with technological devices that seem more practical. The existence of online news portal sites serving the most actual news are the answer for information needs. There are many of online news portal sites in Indonesia, yet not many research focused on them since they are relatively new. Online news portal site also has its own characteristics. Moreover, in Indonesia, where series of media are under the power of political figures. Personal assumptions about national mass media also appear without direction. Public opinion of specific online news portal site is still unknown. To dig the empirical phenomenon, this research are looking for the answer about the media credibility of two (2) Indonesia online news portal sites. Kompas.com, who is part of media conglomeration, and Viva.co.id, with strong political background because of its owner. Key Word: Media Credibility, Public, Online News Site, Kompas.com, Viva.co.id
