Ilmu Sosiatri)ABSTRACTION Talks about transvestites in Indonesia, still struggling about acceptance transvestites in the sight of the society and religion. Further researches and books that have existed not fully understand transvestites in the ontologist position, and not peeling deeper about transvestites itself. Mostly just see transvestites as a construction in of social order. So far, transvestites only be used as an object not as a human being. Incomprehension of transvestites’ discourse causes the understanding of the third gender in Indonesia is still weak. This research trying to peeling deeper about transvestites as gender identity and no longer as an object. With research question “How’s the transvestites discourse in the formation of The Third Gender in Yogyakarta?”. Using qualitative research with discourse analysis approach and the postrukturalism paradigm as the large umbrella over theories used; Michel Foucault’s discourse and Performativity Theory by Judith Butler being used to trace the transvestites discourse and the presence’s implications of the Third Gender in Yogyakarta. As in the case of Heteronormativity’s discourse, which men and women having their constitutives, also in the case of Transvestites’ discourse. Those things were detected by a series of concept and the act of, conductes, think, and their performances. If the purpose of Heteronormativity’s discourse is pro-kreasi, dissimiliar with the purpose of the Third Gender discourse; which is actualisation of the personal identity in every human being, truth about themselves and pleasure.
