Proses Relokasi Pedagang Kripik Belut Pasar Godean Ke Pusat Kuliner Belut Godean

ABSTRACT As the growth of the informal businesses such as street vendors around the traditional market encourages market manager to arrange the relocation of the merchant traders. In the case of Godean Traditional Market, the eel chips sellers who are considered by the local authority causing traffic jam in front of the market had been relocated to a new place named Godean Eels Culinary Center. The relocation is done through several stages of activity, such as building eels culinary center, preparing the merchants, and moving the merchants to the new place. During the relocation process, Office Market of Sleman District used some resources as well involving various government, non-government, and the local people. Based on the research findings, the relocation of traders to the new place caused a change in the arrangement of the merchant, also in public facilities, both at the old and the new location. Furthermore, in the early days on the new place the earnings and number of visitors Godean Eels Culinary Center are down to lower number compared to the previous location. The changes occurred after the relocation caused various reaction and adjustment from these merchants. This research recommends the local office market to make actions such as improvements on the facilities in the culinary center, and to take a solution to the problems at the new place, as well as the follow up relocation arrangement of other traders around Godean Market.
