Diversity in a country is like two-side of a coin, which on one side, it is a national treasure, but on the other hand, it could be a problem if not treated properly. Malaysia is a multi-ethnic country, with the main population dominated by three major ethnicities, namely Malays, Chinese, and Indian. Ethnic discrimination is a problem that arised from government policies that prioritize the Malays, and sidelined the other two ethnics. With policy based positive discrimination namely New Economic Policy, the Chinese and Indian suffered discrimination, and then took a fight against government and the Malays. Policy later changed, with more use of multi-ethnic approach, and then the introduction of 1Malaysia Policy. Keyword: ethnical discrimination, positive discrimination, multi-ethnicity, and policy.
