Reaksi Pemerintahan SBY Terhadap Konflik dan Kekerasan di Papua

Abstract Since joining Indonesia, Papua has suffered conflict, Papuans are always living in misery. Suffering endured by the people of Papua has become one driving factor for the people of Papua to fight for its independence as an independent nation, free from Indonesian rule. A variety of efforts to fight for Papuan independence has led to the emergence of long-running conflict between the Indonesian government and people of Papua. This research will discuss how SBY government in resolving conflict and violence that happened in Papua. Especially after special autonomy in Papua otherwise fail, special autonomy in Papua has not been able to raise the level of welfare as desired by the people of Papua. SBY government have 2 fundamental policy for resolve conflict and violence in Papua. First, prosperity approach, to improve the welfare of Papuans in order to be aligned with other areas in Indonesia. Second, security approach, for uphold the sovereignty and integrity of Republic Indonesia, due to the still large political movement of separatism in Papua.
