Strategi Petani Padi Dalam Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Keluarganya :(Studi Mengenai Strategi Survival Keluarga Petani Padi di Desa Sumberagung Kecamatan Moyudan Kabupaten Sleman)

ABSTRACT Public welfare can be realized if the needs of the community are fulfilled. One of the needs that are vital is the food needs, must be fulfilled first to achieve a public welfare increase, while also followed by fulfilled of the other basic needs. As a supplier of most of the food needs from the community, rice farmers should have a high bargaining power and their well being are considered by the government. But in fact the fate of the farmers is still far from welfare word. And various policies that implemented by the government have not been able to improve the welfare of rice farmers. From this problems Sumberagung village rice farmers have their own strategy to survive and trying to fulfilled their family needs (increase their family welfare). This study used qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used are data processing (categorization and data reduction), data presentation, data interpretation, and drawing conclusions also verification. While data validity checking technique is used triangulation, confirmability, and ample references. This research was conducted in Sumberagung village, Moyudan subdistrict, Sleman district, Yogyakarta, most of the land in the village was used as agricultural land ( more than half of the rural area is used as agricultural land). Sumberagung become into one of the rice barn village for the village itself and the surrounding area because of the vast agricultural land in the village. The results showed that rice farming that done by Sumberagung villagers, Moyudan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, poorer results of the farm has not been able to meet the various needs of the community, especially the family of the perpetrator fice farming community itself. Ownership of agricultural land that limited and low selling prices, they because it. From that reality rural rice farmers Sumberagung have their own strategy to increase their income, in order to improve the fulfillment of the needs of the family in an effort to improve their welfare. Several strategies that performed by rice farmers to increase their income, among others, is doing extra work, raising livestock, and also an effort to increase the productivity of the rice farming that they do. The strategy is a response to the problems that they face, able to improve their income, so that they can meet the various needs of their lives, in this case in particular the needs of their families.
