September 11, 2001, became the starting point for the western countries to take steps domestically to respond to the threat of international terrorism, Australia is no exception. The threat of terrorism is clearly could destabilize the country. Australia's decision to establish military cooperation with the United States is part of Australian foreign policy. Australian foreign policy can not be separated from Australia's national interest to the United States. National security and national interests are the main principles and strategic objectives in formulating a foreign policy.
