Mewujudkan Pendidikan Berkualitas di SMP Negeri 1 Bulu Sukoharjo

ABSTRACT Education is one of the fundamental and important thing for every human being. Quality education is one way to achieve the goal of national education as mandated in the 1945 constitution. A problem occurred in SMP Negeri 1 Bulu Sukoharjo namely the imbalance between the proportion of teachers teaching and educating. Most of the teachers are still oriented to teaching than educating students. This study has two objectives, namely to determine the quality of education in SMP Negeri 1 Bulu Sukoharjo school year 2012/2013 and to provide feedback on the quality of education in SMP Negeri 1 Bulu Sukoharjo school year 2012/2013. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using a qualitative approach. While the unit of analysis in this study is the students and the teachers. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and library research. Stages of data analysis is data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing / verification. According Isjoni (2006:22) there are four references to achieve a quality education that educational facilities, instructional facilities and infrastructure, human resource development, and life skills development. Meanwhile, according to Mulyasana (2011:120) quality education system was born of good planning, good governance system, and a good teacher. From the seventh aspect of the above, the researcher can be simplified into four aspects, namely infrastructure, human resources, education governance, and curriculum development based life skills. Based on observations and interviews conducted by the researchers, there are some aspects that have demonstrated the essence of quality education. Some aspects that have demonstrated the essence of quality education is the curriculum based to life skill development, education and governance. While the other aspects that have not shown that the essence of quality education is facilities, infrastructure and human resources. Recommendations researchers to realize quality education in SMP Negeri 1 Bulu Sukoharjo is to do the renovation and rehabilitation of educational facilities damaged, procurement of computer number of learners and the management of library and laboratory improvement. Besides training increase teacher competency-based IT needs to be improved as well as the need for innovative learning methods and varied were applied by teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Bulu Sukoharjo.
