ABSTRACT South Africa, well known as the land of apartheid which ended a few decades ago. It seems not everybody happy with the shift of the regime, from apartheid to democracy. Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (Afrikaner Resistance Movement), one of an extremist right wing groups, against the abolishment of apartheid. Born in 1973, the right wing group still exists till now under the democratic regime. This paper will answer the question: "Why Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB) appeared and still survive in post-apartheid democratic system which currently applied in South Africa?" In order to answer that, the concept of transition towards democracy by Collier and balance of class power by Rueschmeyer will be used.
