Peran dan Prospek The New Rich dalam Upaya Keterbukaan Politik di Republik Rakyat Cina

ABSTRACT The main purpose of this undergraduate dissertation is discussing about the roles and prospects of the new rich in political openness of the People’s Republic of China. The main concern is the creation of the new rich was made up of people employed by the Party, civil servants, professional and technical staff who were employed by state-owned and private business and employees of social institutions. In 1978, the gaige kaifang policy was initiated by Deng Xiaoping and caused many changes in the country itself, especially in politic, economy and social as well. This undergraduate dissertation will attempt to answer the question: what are the roles and prospects of the new rich in the process of political openness in China? To assess the political openness in a system, the six dimensions can be used as indicators of the extent to which people's desire to be able to touch the political apparatus, which are: participate in the selection, competition, accountability, rule of law, transparency, and interfaces. In sum there will be two focuses in the research. First, explaining the history of the new rich in China and why China needs it. Second, arguing the roles and prospects of the new rich in the People’s Republic of China.
