2013 | Skripsi | Ilmu KomunikasiABSTRACT Nowadays, the role of public relations in an organization or company is quite a central role, especially in building a relationship with various stakeholders. Stakeholders are parties that are important to the company and require attention to support company objectives. In a broader framework, satisfaction of the stakeholder groups can be used as an indicator of the success of the company. Such as the manufacturer, developer, and exploration of oil and gas upstream, Energi Mega Persada (EMP). To grow into a large company and to face the challenges, Energi Mega Persada (EMP) has implemented a process necessarily good corporate governance to ensure that the company's competitiveness be maintained in all circumstances and provides added value for our stakeholders. Therefore, this study determines the public relations strategy of Energi Mega Persada (EMP) in building good relationships with stakeholders in the EMP Gelam region. EMP Gelam has been chosen because it can provide a snapshot of public relations issues both generally and specifically. This research uses public relations theories includes Freeman Stakeholder Theory and public relations strategies according to Smith (2005), with a qualitative descriptive case study method (multiple case studies). The results show that the public relations strategy of EMP Gelam includes the mapping of stakeholders, a strategic public relations plan which also includes public relations activities in the foundation of stakeholder management, problem identification, goal setting, public relations strategy includes actions and communications, the implementation of public relations activities, and evaluation. Public relations management through Participatory Planning Program Community Development is the most well-planned step in the public relations strategy as well as uncover the EMP Gelam social and political constraints in the practice of public relations in the EMP Gelam.
