ABSTRACT Traditional market developments is one important aspect of the dynamics economic life of the small community. It can be said at this time the traditional market is still part of the public sector whose existence is very important and needs to be protected by all parties. The problems are often the cause of the weak traditional markets is a problem that is not worth the physical market, as well as the management of the market that is less professional. Plus the advent of modern stores more incentive to make the existence of traditional markets to be a little disturbed. The problem is also a serious concern to the Government policy in Bantul to developing Traditional Market Imogiri which is one of the biggest markets in Bantul. With all the breakthroughs and innovations are more mature, traditional markets Imogiri has undergone transition and change an image into a traditional market semi-modern models. Being interesting study when talking about the implications of a new policy that emphasizes research on the impact of the development of traditional markets Imogiri. This research was conducted using qualitative descriptive methods by using interviews and documentation techniques to find answers from research questions. The results of the analysis of existing data in the field show that the impact of the development of traditional markets Imogiri was less optimal. Factual conditions seen in the field reflects a biased policy implications. Impact there actually has a positive impact on the interests of stakeholders who have political authority and administrative policy mechanisms. Increased local revenues and improved image of traditional markets better is one of the successful development of traditional markets Imogiri. Similarly, the progress of the area around the traditional market economy Imogiri uplifted by the presence of more developed markets. But the form of that success was bland as opposed to economic conditions Imogiri traditional market traders. Various innovations and new system implemented proved to be causing economic decline of traders. Thus it can be concluded that in general the development of Traditional Market Imogiri less objectively and effectively to the welfare of the market traders Imogiri. As the input and recommendations of this research effort will require more consistent in it‟s emphasis on traders prosperities. Local government as an actor who has legal authority should further ensure transparency and aspiration absorptions than the interests of the merchant it self. Local governments should open up communication spaces with the principles of justice as a policy goal that benefits all parties.
