Abstract The widespread use of Twitter by the people of Indonesia is one of the interesting social phenomenon to be studied. Today the function of the twitter from social media evolved to a public space that can provide human right about social and political events for all its users. Automatically with that consequence, the internet users have rights that must be respected in the activities of the nation and state life. This phenomenon led to a concept of citizenship for internet users who are often referred as netizenship. Netizenship made the positions of Internet users to have the bargaining power and participation in the democratic process that took place in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to look at the provision of netizenship that provided by Twitter in bringing human rights about social and political events for the people of Indonesia. Virtual Ethnography used in this study, because the phenomenon is one of the new culture that gave rise to the construction of meaning and perception also influence in the lives of its users. Sources of primary data obtained through the websites and netizens of Twitter or another websites that related for research. To reduce the bias effect of research occurring, researcher got into the problems through the discussion of related events that concerning about social and political rights. In this case, reseracher picked #saweran KPK and @TrioMacan2000 phenomenon. Secondary data such as cross-checking technique using internet technology, literature studies and interviews with relevant experts, used to increase the accuracy of the study. The results of this studies indicate if Twitter has a role in providing netizenship to bring about social and political rights. Information through social networks that created in social media is the basic capital of netizenship. The information provided through Twitter can be developed into further activities such as political education, social movements, and political movements that can affect the life of democracy in Indonesia. Implications to the fulfillment netizenship via Twitter creates techno power with benefits or problems in the micro level and macro-level messo (social environment and the state). In the end can be predicted with the provision netizenship via Twitter turned out to be an alternative choice for the people of Indonesia to achieve human rights about social and political events. Moreover the provision of netizenship can stimulate participation in democracy through the use of technology.
