Kebijakan Vladimir Putin Dalam Terorisme Di Chechnya Tahun 2000-2008

“Russia is a country with unique characteristics. It differs from any other country in the world. Russia has a very broad territory and consists of various nationalities, languages and religions. Therefore it is no wonder if many internal conflicts occur, especially those who do not want the power of Russia and want independence. And terrorism became one of the efforts to actualize the desire of the Chechen to be separated from the Russian Federation. There were many acts of terrorism in Russia caused by the Chechen rebels. Therefore, Vladimir Putin as the President of Russian Federation should address these issues. The state intelligence agency, in this case is FSB, represents security guard that was instrumental in dealing with various threats. Vladimir Putin sent the FSB as the main and the most important body on combating terrorism in Russia. The various threats are to be faced with a conception of intelligence which is based on years of experiences, the intelligence universal truth and innovative ideas tailored to the changing times. Therefore, intelligence is basically the state ears, eyes, feeling and thoughts in dealing with all forms of threats, challenges, obstacles and interference so as not to disturb the security and integrity as well as sovereignty of the nation. The current thesis will discuss the Vladimir Putin’s Policy on Combating Terrorism in Russia in 2000-2008. So it will lead to further discussion of how Putin's role as the central actor and the main command of the Russian’s counterterrorism policy, the extent to which these policies can be implemented and how the implications of the policy.” Keywords : Vladimir Putin’s Role, Terrorism, Chechnya, Counterterrorism
