Poverty and illegal logging are issues faced by almost all regions, especially forest edge area, such as Banyusoco Village. Alternative form of a concrete and comprehensive resolution is being done through Community Forestry program (HKm), which was implemented in 2004. This program uses a community participatory approach that puts the community as an absolute manager, just as the government's role is only as a facilitator. Given the economic benefits of the HKm program, community is expected to have a sense of awareness for the importance of forest conservation. Keywords: community participation, forest development.
