Many of them consider music as an entertainment, but a few of them assume about music is more than that. Currently music has undergone a significant shift, starting from the step of creation musicality, recording step, up to distribution or oration step of it. A significant shift is inseparable from the development of technology. Recording technology and presence of new media enables someone to produce their own music. Each set of such self production process now known as “self producing music”. Without an intervention of a record label, as well as the recording process can be done flexibly and distributes the output of it independently. The presence of such self producing capable of destroying a music production system has been around, as long as the mainstream and popular music are produces. The process of self producing music has become a culture that attends as a form of resistance to the invasion of popular music. Most investors of self producing are the active audience in music and having an ability to perform selection of music to be consumed. It not limited to only that course, the audience active interpret differently each massage brought by popular music. Sometimes what was delivered by the songwriter can be defined differently by the active audience. Moreover, if the music is too mainstreams and not has a new thing in lyrics or musicality. Base trough the argument that independent musicians who perform self producing an audience that undergoes a transformation. The active audience felt that the music industry was too dull, they want to show something different with the way of transformation from active audience became an active audience who produces a massage. They desire to the reason, why they want to be an independent musicians who perform self producing? In addition the relationship between independent musicians and social media become an interesting thing when they make a transaction massage. Interactions that occur between independent musicians with a social media are more than just a form of promotion. There were xviii many reasons and advantages that they can get from using a social media as a device to oration their music. Using the ethnographic research study is expected to describe the relationship between independent musicians with a social media, that will be the focus of the main subject of this research. Ethnography studies allows researchers to get indepth and intimate data, it purpose to be presented on the process of self producing did by the informant research. The reason they do the self producing, up to habit and the recording process is also a discussion of this research.
