International monetary system is the center of the international political economy because of its important role in providing a framework for international payments. The financial crisis 2007/2008 has been increased volatility in the currency. Most of the national currency depreciated against the USD, which then impact on the ability of state consumption. This study aims to look at the implementation of the current international monetary system, the flexible system, in the countries to resolve the financial crisis 2007/2008. There are some weaknesses in the implementation of a flexible system, so it is less effective in resolving the crisis. Therefore, we need some reform in the international monetary system in order to better be able to promote global economic stability.
