Transformasi Capitalist Developmental State Di Jepang Studi Kasus : Pengaruh Gaiatsu Terhadap Restrukturisasi Sony Corporation

This undergraduate thesis examines the implication of gaiatsu or American pressure towards transformation of capitalist developmental state in Japan. This research proves that gaiatsu had significant influence toward transformation of Japanese capitalist developmental state. It is reflected on the alteration of Japanese government and business relation in which in present time, the business group has more power to determine their own behavior in response to business global challenge than in the past. The alteration of business behavior caused by gaiatsu has aggressively boosted big firms in Japan to relocate their production activity to foreign countries. As a result, the business group has no longer had tight partnership with the government due to the fact that macroeconomic climate and domestic industrial policy have no longer had big contribution on business activity. They see that building a global business networks precisely offers many more advantages that they can not find when having close partnership with government.
