As a social creature, human needs communication. This communication process is urgently needed for socialization with another human. As the years go by, technologies hold the important roles of human communication by now. Through technology, humans can communicate within distance and time. Thus human can stay connected with another human by various communication devices. The huge need of communication has made Blackberry handset become pretty popular to use by Indonesian people nowadays. With many special features such as Blackberry Messenger and push e-mail, the amount of Blackberry user is increasing from year. As we know, the communication process is needed even at the very basic level of social structure, which called family. This made a new phenomenon; Blackberry Group used as the main basis for family communication. With ethnographic studies, researcher tries to assess the usage of group chat Blackberry Messenger as the new constellation of communication in small group, especially family.
