Information behavior is an essential concept in understanding the communication pattern of the society with conflict condition. It is clear that the society in conflict dealt with uncertain condition. To examine the uncertainty and to reduce the effect of it for people, the writer presumes that obtaining the right information would be beneficial. However, it is possible that the transmission of the information also may increase the uncertainty. Therefore, individuals with the conflict condition employed their conflict of interests as the basis to select the variety of the information. Thus, the solid attachment of rural people in Kulon Progo coastal iron mining side plan area, with the majority works in agriculture field, would be determined by its strong engagement to each other. That shows clearly the importance of social media to mediate the needs of information for the rural people relating to the mining plan.
