2011 | Skripsi | Ilmu KomunikasiTake Me Out Indonesia is one of the popular TV programs in Indonesia. Many people like watching it. This reality program gets higher rating than other TV programs, although it has not have high quality. Audience should have media literate when they watch it. Media literacy is a kind of skill which can help audience to interact properly with media. The interpretation of a media literated person will be different from the one who has less media literate. Audience who have more media literate tend to be wiser and more critical. Related to this problem, a reception research needs to be conducted. This reception research concentrates more on the audience themselves, how they understand the text and how they give a meaning through watching experience. This audience reception will be the standard to measure the audience’s capacity of media literacy when watching Take Me Out Indonesia. This research shows that each audience has a unique and special reception. Each audience has different reception to the same media text, it depends on the audience’s experiences and characteristics.
