The United States has designed North American Free Trade Area to be applied in North America in order to increase the well-being of the three countries of the region. By NAFTA, the US also planned to raise Mexico’s wealth which will lead to the lowering of Hispanic migration to US. Too bad, the free trade applied by NAFTA destroys the Mexican economy since it causes the flood of cheaper US’ agricultural product. The flood causes the failure of Mexican farms, which causes enormous unemployment, and then causes immense immigration boom to the US. The fact tends to the failure of US in using NAFTA to decrease the immigration. It maybe shows that NAFTA is not the right choice for US to solve the problem of giant immigration.
