Nation building policy is an important tool in Singapore governance to manage multiracial society and to create one community so called “Singapore Nation”. In conducting the policy, the government of Singapore has special concern on Malay community in Sungapore as it is the biggest minority group in the country as well as the majority in the region of South East Asia. Thus, integration of ethnic community to the larger community in Singapore has significant role in creating one Singapore nation. There are several nation building policies conducted by government to encourage Malay integration, namely national education, housing development board, national service, ideology, Malay as national language, and national symbol. These policies have brought about several indications of Malay integration to the Singaporean community, such as equality of Malay community to the majority group in term of housing and political rights, racial harmony to other ethnic groups, and the emergence of common identity with other ethnics. However, this integration process through nation building has not finished yet. There are still challenges regarding the implementation of equal opportunity and social economic condition of the Malay which is still lag behind until now.
