Abstrak Republicanism has entered new stage in Australia since Australian Labor Party won the federal election in 2007. Republicanism reborn and reshape with different strategy after Howard’s decade conservatism government replace by Rudd’s Labor government. Without ignoring the contentious nature and aspiring to offer alternative definition of the concept, this research seeks to present ways in which republicanism new look and strategy post-federal election 2007. Instead, procedural debate such as preamble, constitution amendment, republic model, and president’s power, republicanism post-federal election 2007 rather is seen as a people’s force and movement—something missing at republicanism debate at 1990s. This new look and strategy represents can be seen as re-awakening of Australian republicanism. At the same time, Australian republicanism post-federal election 2007’s strategy which can be employed by other nations especially under British sovereignty. As a result, Australian republic will taking place when Rudd’s Labor government could promising better future and/or after Queen Elizabeth II abdicate.
