This research explains the weaknesses of the security dilemma concept by using the frame of meta-theory. Meta-theory is a theory that puts other theory or concept as an object to be analyzed. Analysis is done in the level of ontology, epistemology and methodology to explain the thought of security dilemma scientists toward reality and knowledge that can be absorbed from the reality itself with particular method and technique. This research finds some weaknesses on epistemology level in claims of knowledge stated by those scientists such as thought about structure and the understanding about mind. These weaknesses have some implications toward their methodology that make this concept is vulnerable to temporal fallacy and misinterpretation. These weaknesses cause the security dilemma concept fails to be a universal concept as intended by its pioneers. Keyword: Security Dilemma, Ontology, Epistemology, Methodology
