This thesis studied on conflict between KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission) and Polri (National Police) which be public discourse. Kompas and Media Indonesia as a national daily newspaper intensively makes news to public for September until November 2009 about that. Discourse of conflict KPK and Polri became important problem in law enforcement, especially in eradicating corruption. By employing Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) through three level analysis, namely text, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice, this research concludes: (1) Kompas and Media Indonesia constructed conflict KPK and Polri as discourse of public versus status quo. Both Kompas and Media Indonesia tends to support existence of KPK as public institution which must be still exist. So generally, this both print media in their news more appreciate on KPK than Polri. (2) Factor of internal media, especially ideology of media affected news discourse that constructed, (3) there’s different language use in discourse of conflict KPK-Polri by Kompas and Media Indonesia.
