It is not easy to achieve it, therefore it is necessary to make a systematic program planning to ensure the sustainability of the community empowerment using an appropriate strategy, one of them is the “exit strategy”. Thus, the formulation of problems in this research is a) How the awareness process of the corridor community who once the forest encroachment become forest restorer? b) How is the institutionalization done by CGS to consistently maintain the community of forest restoration behavior c)? How the exit strategy of Green Corridor Initiative done by CGS so that community empowerment keep sustain? This research is using descriptive-qualitative method. Data collection method is using observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis is using Social Construction by Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckman, Socia; Institution by Uphoff, and the “Exit Strategy” concept by B.L Rogers and K.E Macias. Data validity technique is using triangulation. Result of the research shows that the awareness of corridor community is happened before the implementation of GCI program in 2004 where the corridor community experienced a social construction three times (Berger & Luckman). First moment was when the corridor community became a forest labour of Perum Perhutani. Second moment was when there was a regulation changing in forest management of Gunung Salak that made the corridor community spread to the forest. Third moment was when the corridor community restored the forest individually (not involving the government) in 2004. The corridor community built a social institution in forest restoration named KSM Jarmaskor (Uphoff). In 2012, Chevron Geothermal Salak, Ltd, held GCI program that contributed in strengthening the corridor community awareness in restoring the forest as well as increasing capacity and community income in productive economic activities through training and mentoring. The exit strategy of GCI program by Chevron Geothermal Salak, Ltd is done by KSM Jarmaskor. The GCI Program is redirected to KSM Jarmaskor which has given training and mentoring to manage the GCI program after there is no longer assist from CGS.
