ABSTRACT This study is a case study aimed to answering the research question related on how broadcasting supervision of Breaking News program is conducted by Metro TV news bulletin manager. This case study also examined the production of Breaking News program about Air Asia QZ 8501‟s crash news on 28 and December 30, 2014. Factors that filtered out by supervisors was investigated; including decisions, instructions and control by the newsroom. The results showed that in the period from December 28, 2014 news bulletin manager did not perform directly in the form Breaking News program‟s supervision and has reneged the exiestence od broadcasting ethics violations. On December 30, 2014 there was supervision conducted out by manager news bulletin that was based on the consideration that refers to the standard of gatekeeping mechanisms.
