2017 | Tesis | Ilmu Hubungan InternasionalABSTRACT This thesis aims to determine the factors that underlie illegal trade of turtle eggs as well as the relationships between actors in the process of the struggle for access to and control over natural resources in the area of Paloh, Kalimantan Barat. Indonesia is one of the turtle habitat in the world there are six of the seven species of sea turtles world nesting, foraging, and immigrated turtle habitats are protected and included in the IUCN Red List and CITES. Utilization of turtle eggs by community ignores aspects of sustainability and traded illegally in the border Paloh - Teluk Melano (Sarawak). The emergence of political actors and conservation area as a form of illegal action poaching of turtle eggs make WWF then take part in turtle conservation in Paloh and make efforts to encourage the establishment of conservation areas in Paloh. The phenomenon territorialising conservation area by WWF impact on the reduction of poaching and illegal trade in turtle eggs Paloh region. Government through BKSDA not maximized in improving its oversight role and especially in border regions and regional development in order to trade Paloh turtle eggs can be reduced and promote community Paloh by promoting the values of nature preservation in charge so that the economy can be lifted Paloh region. However territorialising and conservation efforts carried out by WWF and the Government through BKSDA collide with the efforts of people who use the turtle eggs from generation to generation in the region of Paloh.
