Faktor Penyebab Terhambatnya Konsensus Keanggotaan Timor Leste di ASEAN

Abstract This research aims to look and analyze about the Timor Leste’s obstacles in the process of becoming ASEAN member state. Since Its indepence in 2002, Timor Leste has intended to become a better state by becoming an ASEAN member. In 2011, Timor Leste submitted proposal of its goal and it appeared not going easy. Timor Leste could not join the regional organization yet. Apparently, there are several considerations from the ASEAN member states. Therefore, until today the consensus has not been agreed and one of them to accept Timor Leste as ASEAN member. Keywords: ASEAN, Timor Leste, Obstacle, Consensus.
