ABSTRACT This study aims to find out how the interpersonal communication strategy that down by Puter Indonesia Foundation (YPI) in community development program (Comdev) in Telaga Village, Kamipang, Katingan, Central Kalimantan Province. Community Development is one of the strategies of forest conservation, strengthening the capacity of the forest communities. The method used was a case study with data collection through interviews, observation and document study. The author discusses and analyzes how environmental communications strategies to approach interpersonal communication, from the communication of planning up to be operated by YPI. Based on the research results can be concluded that the communication strategy undertaken by Yayasan Puter Indonesia in the process of implementation of the community development approach to interpersonal communication has a characteristic, namely; Planning based on research and local knowledge, the selection communicator with emphasis on experience and communication skills, preparation and dissemination of messages according to the needs of the audience and the actors approach to interpersonal communication, and evaluation stages. YPI communication strategy undertaken in implementing the comdev program impact ideas acceptance by the community program on the location of activities, it is evident from their understanding of the program, less conflict and community participation.
