Strategi dan Tantangan China dalam Mempromosikan Brics New Development Bank

2016 | Tesis | Ilmu Hubungan InternasionalAbstract This thesis analyzes the strategies and challenges that China faces in an effort to promote the BRICS New Development Bank. China as a dominant member of BRICS in terms of experience and resources has responsibility to promote the bank it created along with fellow BRICS members. Strategies are needed to confirm the existence of the bank in the world and to expand its network for the sake of long-term cooperation. There have been internal and external challenges faced by China in particular and the bank in general. By using the concepts of soft power, reciprocity, interdependence, and collective identity, the author found that China utilizing the effect of economic resources as a strategy to promote the BRICS New Development Bank. Meanwhile, the challenges take form in the strained bilateral relations of China-Russia and China-India as well as the emergence of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), an international financial institution created also by China.
