ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the environmental diplomacy strategy of Sweden’s Government in Indonesia especially in Kota Palu through SymbioCity Approach. The periods of this research started from 2012 to 2015 as the time intervals. Urbanization has become one of the huge problem in developing countries, the cooperation between Sweden and Indonesia has concerning some specific issues including urbanization effects. Sweden willingness as developed country has been inseparable from its obligation to fulfil the pacts in international convention. City management is the main approach in Kota Palu based on Sweden’s experience as the international environmental pioneer. SymbioCity has succeed to identify the environmental problem in Kota Palu by establish municipal program with Boras City. Based on environmental diplomacy concept, green approach has been implemented through city management and transfer knowledge as the main strategy of Sweden’s government.
