Messenjah: Pesan Rohani dalam Desain:(Studi tentang Messenjeh Sebagai Distro/Clothing yang Menggunakan Identitas Agama Kristen)

ABSTRACT In Indonesia, the development community distro / clothing s starting from the city of Bandung, and then spread to other cities. Included in Yogyakarta, where one of them is the distro / clothing Messenjah since 2001 to apply the theme of Christianity in every product design. This thesis aims to identify why the identity of Christianity have been selected as the theme distro / clothing Messenjah. In this study, the method used is qualitative method because in this method the researchers are more concerned with value of where to find answers to questions that concern how the rise of social experience as well the acquisition of meaning. While this type of data consists of two types of primary data and secondary data. Primary data in this study data from interviews while secondary data is data obtained through literature, personal photos, social media and other sources. After doing research, there are some findings, the first Christian identity have been selected for community concerns distro / clothing Messenjah against Fordism culture that makes quality clothing Christian spiritual circulating in Yogyakarta, according to them unsatisfactory. Secondly, in its development as a community, distro / clothing Messenjah is a business unit of the fund that supports all aspects of Community activity Messenjah. Half of the gain on sale of products distro / clothing Messenjah allocated to support the activities of the Community Messenjah in service and social action. While the form of Community Messenjah itself is a religious community that are informaly, but still adopting the structure, especially in the distro / clothing Messenjah as a business unit of funds for Community Messenjah.
