2016 | Tesis | Ilmu Hubungan InternasionalABSTRACT Japan imposed concept of green capitalism as a way to reduce global carbon emissions by implementing green investment policies through a domestic cap-and-trade, carbon tax and carbon offsetting. The policy caused the pros and cons among actors in the domestic politics of Japan, so Japan formed low carbon growth partnership for carbon credits in overseas made by Japanese companies with their counterparts. This thesis aims to analyze how domestic politics of Japan in the implementation of green capitalism has implications for bilateral relations between Japan and Indonesia related to the establishment of low carbon growth partnerships. This thesis uses case study analysis by explanatory on causal relationship between independent and dependent variables. The result shows that formulation of low-carbon growth partnership between Japan and Indonesia are influenced by the Japanese domestic politics in the implementation of green capitalism, both of the role played by domestic political groups and domestic societal interest groups. Japanese actors in domestic political groups which pro to implement obligation of the green investment are the Ministry of Environment (MOE) and the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), while the cons are the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) and its coalitions. While actors of domestic societal interest groups which pro are Japan Center for a Sustainable Environment and Society (JACSES), Greenpeace, Worldwide Fund for Nature, meanwhile the cons is Japanese business federation especially Nippon Keidanren.
