Efektivitas ASEAN Way sebagai Mekanisme Penyelesaian Konflik di Asia Tenggara:(Studi kasus Konflik Preah Vihear dan Konflik Muslim Rohingnya

Abstract Since its founding in 1967 many conflicts emerge between member of ASEAN, but does not lead to open conflict or military action. Eventhough, potential conflicts either between state like border conflict or domestic conflik like etnis conflict is very high. Some parties consider this as the success of ASEAN Way, but there are also opinion that consider ASEAN as a “talkshops” only and failed to resolve conflict. If ASEAN is not effective to resolve conflict, so why there is a conflict that can be resolved and Southeast Asia region become a relatively peaceful area compare to other area. Considering the global condition and potential conflicts in Southeast Asia are quite high, it is need to studied about the effectiveness of ASEAN Way as conflict resolution mechanism. With cualitative methods, this research will deeply analyze the effectiveness of ASEAN Way as a conflict resolution menchanism in Preah Vihear Conflict and Muslim Rohingya Conflict. From the analysis using the concept of analitical conflict and the theory of rezim effectiveness was found that the effectiveness of ASEAN Way is different in each conflict, depend on the type and the nature of the conflict.
