ABSTRACT Jember documentary film built a dynamic narrative subject in the discourse of regional development. Subject presented and emerged in the complexity of relationships that formed himself alternity. Subaltern then seen as the fragmentation of identity intertwined through visual refraction. The idea formation of subaltern investigated through discourses trace that contested to open space for interpretation of meaning.
