ABSTRACT The multistakeholder in the management of Prambanan Area potentially causes problems. The Prambanan area lies in two administrative regions, which are Sleman, DIY and Klaten District, Central Java, resulting in complexity in the management of the area. The problems that occur in the management and conservation in Prambanan area is divided into two, the problem with the society and the one with local government. Problems occurred with the society is about the land ownership, in which most of the land owned by the society begins to be sought after by investors. While the problem with the Local Government (Bappeda) is related to the development of infrastructure in Zone 3 area of Prambanan. This research is qualitative research, by using observation, interviews and document study as the data collection method. While the method of the research is case study. The researcher found that the management of communications made by BPCB can be the solution of the problems that occur with local governments and society. However, BPCB had not been able to conduct all the stages of good communication management. Mainly, the management of communications made by BPCB can be regarded as one of the effective ways to overcome the problems of preservation in Prambanan area. Effective communication management is able to avoid miss communication and further, it can avoid conflicts between stakeholders.
