OF JARINGAN PEREMPUAN YOGYAKARTA: Case study: The Dynamics of Ideology, Issues, and Strategic Action of Jaringan Perempuan Yogyakarta as the Women Movement Representative In Yogyakarta The struggle to achieve the equality and women rights fulfillment is part of the women’s political struggle. Those struggles known as women movements. Indonesia had a long narration on women’s movement. Running like a relay, the journey of the women’s movement is keep simultaneously going. This thesis writes about the journey of women’s movement that occur since the pre reformation era until post reformation era which marked by the establishment of discussion groups to the consolidation into the women movement in Yogyakarta. This thesis had two questions, which are, first, how the dynamics in Jaringan Perempuan Yogyakarta- as the representative of women movement in Yogyakarta- occurred? Second, how did the Jaringan Perempuan Yogyakarta work on the strategic action to advocate the women issue in Yogyakarta. The method of this research is qualitative with case study approach. Jaringan Perempuan Yogyakarta was chosen because this network consists of various women organization and women activists. This research is done in order to exercise the dynamics inside the Jaringan Perempuan Yogyakarta. The three aspect that become the analysis unit are ideology, issues, and strategic action. The research leads these findings, there are two aspects that being dominantly dynamics inside Jaringan Perempuan Yogyakarta. First, the diverse issues encourage dynamics debate and create the existence of two categories: dominant and minor issue. The second aspect is ideology. It is defined by the synthesis of the shared value; being reproduced and examined on the movement. Different perceptions by the movement actors also become an important aspect to explain the strategic action plan. Those are building critical engagement with the government, doing public campaign, and creating network with others coalition. Therefore, those dynamics affirms Jaringan Perempuan Yogyakarta as the representative of women movement in postmodern feminist framework which consistently struggle for women issue in Yogyakarta.
