Remilitarisasi Jepang oleh Shinzo Abe: Refleksi Pendekatan Poliheuristic

ABSTRACT This graduate thesis aims to describe the decision making process of Shinzo Abe related to the Japan’s direction of defense policy during his period as Prime Minister of Japan. It traces back the development of Japan’s remilitarization after World War II and specially underlines the strategies applied by Shinzo Abe in defense sector during his period as Prime Minister, which leads to remilitarization. To describe Abe’s decision on remilitarization, poliheuristic approach is applied. This graduate thesis argues that when Abe made a decision to take remilitarization as Japan’s defense policy direction, he undergoes two-stage process (cognitive and rational processes) which is a reflection of poliheuristic approach.
