Family Centered dalam Penanganan Anak Jalanan:(Studi Eksplanasi pa Penanganan Anak Jalanan oleh Rumah Singgih dan Belajar Diponegoro)

ABSTRACT Some treatments of street children have been pursued by various parties, both government and society with civil society organization, with an approach commonly used the direct approach at the street (street based), assessing by the institution (institutional based) and, strengthening and empowering the community (community based). In the other hand, Rumah Singgah dan Belajar (RSB) Diponegoro who use the families centered based approach. RSB Diponegoro approach with the family is an important access for the "housing of street children", because of childcare responsibilities in the hands of families and the best environment for a child is in the family. This study focusing on RSB Diponegoro to treat the street children with the parents or families involvement, this study has used qualitative descriptive methods. Sources of data retrieved through interviews with nine informants part of seven street children RSB Diponegoro and two from RSB Diponegoro’s committee, then study of documentation such as the RSB Diponegoro profile and some program reports, and observations with a visit to the both of RSB Diponegoro spot assisted at Ambarukmo and Monjali. The results of this study explain that (1) the family is the main source of children that will be on the streets. (2) thus, the approach of RSB Diponegoro treatment refer to the family, so that, perhaps, the family was subjected prerequisite child would stop from the streets. Actually, RSB Diponegoro seek optimization of strengthening the family as a social system which affects the most influential for street children. (3) the role of the family contribute to the success of street children treatment.
