2016 | Tesis | Pembangunan Sosial dan KesejahteraanABSTRACT This study aims to assess the impact and analyzing the adaptation strategies that do the Batin Sembilan due to the expansion of oil palm plantations on livelihoods. This research was motivated by the spread of oil palm plantation areas, which reached 719.189 ha of forest area change 934.000 ha (44.31%) in Jambi Province, and threatening residential areas and livelihood Suku Anak Dalam is the Batin Sembilan in the Bungku village of Batanghari regency adjacent to the PT. Ecosystem Restoration Indonesia and palm oil plantation companies. This study used a qualitative method with descriptive approach. Determination of informants using the snowball technique and purposive. Data collected by observation in the settlement of the Batin Sembilan and the corporate environment, in-depth interviews with informants and stakeholders, as well as documentation in the form of audio, images, field notes and other supporting data are then analyzed. The results showed the impact is the shift of the Batin Sembilan job of hunting activity, the encroachers pressure on traditional agricultural land and livelihood threats in the region which resulted in 20 537 ha of land deforested, throughout 2015 recorded 567 cases of deforestation. There are changes in water conditions that affect health, and lifestyle changes into a modern traditional. Adaptation strategies that do include a partnership in the form of plant life, education capacity building, and development of medical service system that affect the increased competitiveness of the Batin Sembilan.
