ABSTRACT Deaf community has their own social and cultural identity as linguistic minority group. Through arts performance, Deaf Art Community (DAC) Yogyakarta voices the Deaf Culture and Rights. Inherent with Arts, DAC give contribution to the development of Indonesian Sign Language as heritage of diversity which Deaf community tried to spread in mainstream community. Impressively, the Deaf community using social capital values as a power to trigger the community. Nevertheless, as excluded community, Deaf community faced complex barriers to access social network, trust and norms in mainstream community. Bridging Social Capital is potential values that can associate Deaf community into mainstream community. The presence of DAC through arts performance, built social contact and interaction has showed the existence of bridging social capital. The aim of this research is finding the characteristics of bridging social capital in Deaf community DAC Yogyakarta. The research used qualitative method with descriptive analysis approach. Data collected through in-depth interview, observation and documentation. The findings of this research are kinds of bridging social capital in DAC consists of general trust, bridging network and general norms. General trust in DAC developed from optimism, openness and cooperation through the arts performances and sign language classes. Bridging network in DAC could be seen from social bonding, communication and access of information that the Deaf communities built to the mainstream society. General norms in DAC based on the equality, respect on family values, value of understanding and reciprocity to the mainstream society. The bridging social capital also has positive implication for the integration of Deaf Community DAC into mainstream community.
