Sekuritisasi Drug-Free ASEAN

ABSTRACT This thesis aims to determine the efforts made by ASEAN and Indonesia in the process of securitizatuin towards drugs trafficking in the regiona of Southeast Asia. This Research focuses on the securitization process that occurs at two level, namely the regional level (Southeast Asia) and national level (Indonesia). Data was obtained from literatur review in journals, newspaper, official website, and other reference data from the internet. Furthermore, this Research came up with several findings. First, in the process of securitization against drugs trafficking at the regional level, the member Countries of ASEAN established ASOD (ASEAN Seniors Officials on Drugs Matters) as the main pillars of ASEAN in dealing with drugs trafficking in Southeast Asia, and the securitization process is based on head of state’s statements to drugs trafficking problems. Second, in securitization process at national level, Indonesia established a special institution which handles the problem of Narcotics in Indonesia known as BNN (Badan Narkotika Nasional), with the aim of harmonized towards Drug-Free ASEAN 2015. Third, the securitization process that occurs at the national level will automatically impact on the securitization process that occurs at the regional level.
