Analisis Kenerja Penyelenggaraan Layanan Arsip di Unit Arsip Universitas Gadjah Mada

The researcher analyses the performance of Archives of Gadjah Mada University in archives service. The subject of the study is reference service performance located in Archives of Gadjah Mada University. The aim of the study is to find out the service performance degree of Archives of Gadjah Mada University in reference service. The result of the study shows that the performances degree of the Archives of Gadjah Mada University was good, enough, or bad. Moreover, the aim of the study is to find out factors affecting the service performances degree of the Archives of Gadjah Mada University in reference service. In analyzing the performance of the Archives of Gadjah Mada University, the researcher uses four indicators: 1) Productivity indicator consists of quantity of users, archives access, and publications; 2) Service quality indicator consists of services procedures, archivists attitude, archives condition, service of facilities, time and fee of service; 3) Service responsiveness indicator consists of the ability of organization to identify public need, and improving some programs; 4) Services accountability indicator. The researcher uses qualitative research method utilizing two kinds of data, which are primary and secondary data. The researcher uses observation, deep interview, and documents utilization and analysis. The result of the data analysis using productivity, services quality, services responsiveness, and services accountability indicators is that the service performances degree of Archives of Gadjah Mada University is bad. The result of the study shows that there are, at least, three factors affecting the performance degree of Archives of Gadjah Mada University makes it be bad. Those factors are human resource, leadership, and organizations culture. Eventually, the researcher recommends: 1) improving publication program, (2) delegating non-archival activities to non-archivist staff; and (3) improving student volunteer program.
