ABSTRACT To meet public expectations in a highly dynamic competitive environment, public organizations must be adaptive and responsive. The objective of this research was to assess employee preparedness to face organizational structural changes in a government institution, that are proxied by three independent variables that comprised public service delivery motivation, trust in superiors, and individual personality-organization fit (P-O fit). Population for this research was all civil servant employees in the Ministry of Industry, while the sample was selected based on disproportionate stratified random sampling. The scale used was the scale of preparedness toward organizational change, motivational scale to ward public service delivery, and trust scale toward sueprios, and fitness scale toward the organization. Data analysis was based on linear regression. Research results showed that public service delivery motivation trust in superiors, and individualorganization fit positive influence on employee’ preparedness or readiness to change. In addition, research results also showed that with respect to the public service delivery motivation variable, commitment to public interest, empathy and individual sacrifice dimensions showed positive influence on employee preparedness to change; while for the variable of trust in superiors, belief/ and loyalty showed positive influence on employee preparedness to change. Another finding of this research was that gender, age, educational attainment, position, and office of origin of echelon I employees were good predictors of the difference in readiness among employees.
