Peran NGO Heka Leka dalam Pendidikan Anak di Maluku Pasca Konflik

Abstract This study aims to identify and analyze the role of NGO Heka Leka for children’s education in Maluku, especially at the time of post-conflict. Education is one of the essential thing in maintaining sustainable peace. To maintain sustainable peace, it should be built started from people’s mind, while the mind can be changed through education. In achieving world peace, the implementations should be done in remote areas simultaneously in order to pursuit international peace. Heka Leka is one of NGO working in education, is an organization founded on the initiative of the young generation in Maluku. Heka Leka gives contribution through the knowledge possessed by each Malessy or teacher to the improvement of education in Maluku, especially post conflict education. In the World Declaration on Education for all or Jomtien Declaration of 1990 states clearly that the fundamental thing in education is not only about the literacy and numeracy but also behavioral changes that promote positive values which is contribute to peace. Heka Leka also bringing value in line with declaration such as spirituality, humanity, unity, social responsibility, and multipicity. In addition, the programs carried by Heka Leka include study group, mission trip, and goes to school are the three major programs which expected to have a positive impact on education in Maluku. Heka Leka’s program does not merely help children to learn but also build their character to be more responsible and discipline. Therefore, the recommendation of this study is the government should giving more attention to education as well as Heka Leka expected to do more innovation in making programs.
